The best hold memory out of all hair textures is type four, keeping that in mind I use only a scarf and satin bonnet to coif my hair into a pineapple. Especially if you have short or medium length hair avoid all scrunchies and ties being as this can cause your hair to be pulled and you may loose curl definition.

Although using an Afro pick can create a lot of volume it also can cause a lot of unwanted frizz which will cause your hairstyle to not last long. If the area you live in has high dew points as well as high humidity then the weather can handle that for you. This type of weather will more then likely cause your hair to lift and fall naturally during the day.
3. Hair Care Tips To Avoid | Do Not Fluff
The only thing fluffing creates is frizz. My hair density is low-medium so the only time I fluff is with stretched hairstyles being as my scalp has more exposure, but with a wash and go the shrinkage is appreciated. A natural effect the pineapple has is increased height and if you want more volume I suggest driving with your windows down.

If you spritz you will cause frizz, tangles and when using my coils shrinkage. If I want the reaction my hair gets when I spritz, I might as well just take a walk outside while it is drizzling. My hair contracts and a bit of matting ensues. If I am twisting and braiding my hair for a certain style for the next day I will incorporate spritzing.
